BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT POSITION 

IMPACT Magazine, Canada’s largest independent health, fitness and sports publication, celebrating 31 years of publishing, is expanding its Business Development & Account Management team.

This is a senior-level leadership position for someone who works well independently but also loves to work with a supportive team including the Publisher, Editor, and Art Director. Collaboration in all departments is encouraged. This is a remote position. We are considering both part-time and full-time applicants.

A true passion for, and knowledge of health, fitness, food & nutrition, and sport is a great asset. A proven track record in corporate and media sales, and business development is additionally important.

Together we will identify and develop key growth strategies and opportunities through business development and sponsorship; creating and maintaining a strong and meaningful client/advertising relationships; and developing client marketing opportunities with creative programming, packaging, and communication in print, digital, social, events, custom publishing, and new initiatives.

This role will include developing and managing your own client base locally, regionally and nationally. More than one individual may be hired to add to our team.

Responsibilities Include

  • Developing and managing a client base
  • Client meetings and relationship development
  • Helping clients meet their objectives with creative solutions
  • Developing proposals and presentations for both new and existing advertisers
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with advertising agencies
  • Establishing and meeting issue-to-issue goals with account representative team
  • Availability for media events from time to time

Requirements & Assets

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in advertising sales and marketing
  • Proven sales and communication skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and in-person skills
  • Ability to handle deadlines and goals, with excellent follow-up skills
  • Creative, self-motivated and charismatic, and works well both independently, and with a team
  • A genuine interest in health, fitness and sport

DIRECTOR OF SALES

This is a senior-level leadership position for someone who works well independently but loves to lead a team.

You would be working closely with the Publisher, Editor, and Art Director. Collaboration in all departments is encouraged. This is a remote, flexible contract position.

A true passion for, and knowledge of health, fitness, food & nutrition, and sport is a great asset. A proven track record in corporate and media sales, and business development is additionally important.

Together we will identify and develop key growth strategies and opportunities through business development and sponsorship; creating and maintaining a strong and meaningful client/advertising relationships; and developing client marketing opportunities with creative programming, packaging, and communication in print, digital, social, events, custom publishing, and new initiatives.

  • A strong advertising sales background is required, along with a true passion for health, fitness, and sport, and a strong desire in helping businesses achieve their goals.
  • Position is contract, base plus commission position, with a flexible work schedule and require prospecting and connecting with potential new clientele on both a local and national level.
