The JW Marriott Parq Vancouver is nothing short of impressive—for its architecture and its location with stunning views. Situated in the re-developed, vibrant community of False Creek it is ideally situated to explore downtown Vancouver and its many famous sights. It also overlooks BC Place with Rogers Arena close by, so perfect for staying prior to after a concert or game.

The JW Marriott is one of two hotels under the Parq Vancouver brand (Douglas being the other). On arrival we were immediately struck by the open, spacious lobby that although modern, had a touch of the 1950’s with classic lines and white tones. Our visit coincided with the Lunar New Year and the lobby was a perfect setting for the traditional Lion Dance that was performed before a captive audience of guests and passers-by.

Honey Salt Restaurant

Dining for all occasions
Just off the lobby is the Honey Salt restaurant—one of six in the Parq complex—serving fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Open all day from breakfast through to dinner, we experienced the exquisite flavours over brunch, which is served Saturday and Sunday. The Avocado Toast was delicious as was the Breakfast Galette, but the piece de resistance was the Monkey Bread, proudly brought to our table by executive chef Johann Caner. The ‘pull-apart’ brioche was served with a decadent honey bourbon sauce, which paired perfectly with my coffee and breakfast mimosa!

For a true west coast experience The Victor offers contemporary and seasonally inspired cuisine—perfect for that special occasion. Other food and beverage options include BC Kitchen, for those who like pub fare and enjoy craft beers; 24/7 Eats for that grab and go option, and the Noodle Bar featuring Asian classics. If sipping on a martini or negroni at sunset is your ideal way to end the day then D/6 the rooftop patio is perfect, or there is the Centre Bar or Lotus Lounge for that pre- or post-game cocktail.

The rooftop Spa Aqua Lounge

Spa Experience
The JW Marriott caters to business and leisure travel and one of the memorable experiences was a visit to their spa on the 17th floor. The reception area features an array of organic skin care products many of which are used during treatments and available in the hotel bedrooms. There is an area for manicures and pedicures, the welcoming lounge for guests prior to their treatment and a relaxation room where you can enjoy herbal teas and snacks afterwards.

There are six types of massages from RMT Therapeutic to a full body Beyond Calm massage—the latter of which we enjoyed after running a rather wet and cold half marathon! The locker rooms also feature separate steam rooms.

The 24-hour fitness centre

The spa area is complemented by a 24-hour fitness area which features a full complement of cardio equipment—including treadmills, ellipticals and bikes—free weights, foam rollers, exercise balls and yoga mats. You can workout while enjoying the skyline views and then relax in the outdoor Aqua Lounge with the healing hydrotherapy tub. Not only can hotel guests enjoy the spa facilities, but day passes can be purchased which gives you access to the fitness centre, Aqua Lounge and hydrotherapy tub, relaxation room, locker room and steam room.

The sixth floor Park with a view of BC Place

A unique feature of the JW Marriott is the rooftop sixth floor. Called The Park it features native pines and floras, a water feature and walking paths. As the hotel is pet friendly this was a perfect spot to take our puppy for his early morning and late evening sniffs. With the Victor and D/6 also on The Park, it is an ideal spot for dining outdoors in the summer months.

Accommodation
The guest rooms boast stunning views of the False Creek waterfront and walking/running/cycling paths—our room from the 19th floor was certainly spectacular. They are all well-appointed—complete with bath and skin care products from the spa— where you can relax and enjoy room service at your leisure.

Attractions
The hotel’s proximity to major stadiums is a bonus for concert goers and sports fans—think the FIFA World Cup in 2026—but also for accessing attractions like the Olympic Village and Granville Island. Using the hop-on hop-off dog friendly aquabus, you can leave your car in the hotel parking lot and enjoy these amenities year-round.

We can’t give an overview of the JW Marriott without mentioning their casinos (for 19+ ages). If you like a flutter or want to try your hand at the cards table, they are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors with ample food and beverage offerings.

Regardless of your reasons for visiting Vancouver, the JW Marriott offers a unique vacation experience both in terms of amenities and location.
