For decades, this iconic race has connected local runners, families, and first responders, raising awareness and critical funds for the Calgary Police Youth Foundation. 7:30 a.m. – 8 km race starts
8:15 a.m. – 21.1 km race starts

Find Your Perfect Distance
No matter your pace or experience, there’s a spot for you at the Classic:
Half-Marathon (21.1 km) – Calgary’s only fall road half, with a fast, flat, on-road route. This is primed to be a perfect tune-up race for an upcoming October marathon.
8 km Run/Walk – A unique hybrid between traditional 5 km and 10 km races, this event is a great option for new runners, walkers, or families.
Kids Race – New this year, Run Calgary is introducing a fun and safe dash for kids ages 2–12.
Virtual Option – Complete your distance anywhere, anytime from Sept. 21–Oct. 19 if you can’t join in person.
Run for a Cause: Why It Matters
When you register, you’re doing more than hitting your step count — you’re helping to build safer communities. All participants have the opportunity to fundraise for the Calgary Police Youth Foundation, which funds programs that protect vulnerable youth through education, mentorship, and wrap-around support. Since 2017, this race has raised over $124,000 to help kids thrive.
Looking to bring your first responder community together? Rally a team for the First Responder Challenge, honouring the legacy of Cst. Jason Bramham. Police, EMS, Fire, Military — all are welcome to compete for distance and spirit awards while giving back.

The Calgary Police Classic (formerly Calgary Police Half Marathon) has a history of race shirts with epic designs — and that tradition continues!
Each registration includes one of these colourful technical long sleeve shirts. Youth and toddler sizes are available for the Kids Race and 8 km, so the whole crew can match in style.
The finisher medals are available as an add-on purchase for the 21.1 km or 8 km, and are included for Kids Race and Virtual registrations.

Strollers? Welcome. Little runners? Absolutely. The Kids Race is designed for ages 2–12, with a fun, easy course and a big finish-line moment. The 8 km is family-friendly for walkers and runners alike.
