Janice Beaton launched Caffe Beano more than 25 years ago and she has become beloved by Calgary foodies because of it. She opened her fine cheese shop in 2000 and eight years later debuted the adjoining FARM restaurant.
As the name suggests, Beaton is devoted to sourcing local, seasonal ingredients from nearby farms. The restaurant’s talented culinary team uses those ingredients to create gourmet comfort food.
You must order: The Pacific Red Snapper ($25) is prepared in a cast-iron skillet and served with wild rice, bell peppers, Savoy cabbage, herb pistou and blueberry gastrique.
Menu price range: $14-$30, with lunch, brunch and dinner available.
