New Race Divisions and Course Changes

The 2025 marathon introduces a Masters (40+) division for the first time, along with increased prize money for the marathon, half-marathon and 10 km events. These changes are expected to bring out more local elite runners, who will be sure to stun spectators with their speed.

Additionally, the 10 km course has been redesigned into a loop format, moving away from the previous out-and-back design to allow for optimal PBs.

Green Bib Option

A “Green Bib” option has been added for 2025. The Green Bib is another choice you can make to customize your race day experience to fit your needs and goals. Selecting a Green Bib during registration (instead of a “Regular Bib”) means you are choosing to forgo receiving a race shirt and finisher medal, focusing instead on the journey to the start line, community spirit and race day experience. In lieu of a race shirt and medal, a $10 donation will be made to the Great Divide Trail Association.

Family-Friendly Weekend

The Servus Calgary Marathon is committed to offering a variety of family-friendly activities and initiatives to promote inclusivity and active living for all ages. The weekend features multiple ways that families can get involved:

Youth Pricing: Discounted flat rate youth pricing of $20 + taxes/fees for all youth ages 18 and under as of race day, for all distances

Kids Race: Designed for children ages 2-12, the race is approximately 1 km. Children can participate independently or with a parent/guardian (who does not need to register). This race is available on both Saturday and Sunday for added flexibility.

Diaper Dash:  For the youngest participants under 24 months, the Wee Wild Ones Diaper Dash invites babies to crawl or toddle through a 42.2-foot course. Each “little athlete” receives a custom race bib and finisher medal. This event takes place on Saturday.

SOGO Race Day Adventure Running Camps: In partnership with SOGO Adventure Running, this program allows children to go on their own adventures while their adult races! The race day camps offer an exciting mix of outdoor games, map-reading and orienteering challenges. We have three sessions available on race weekend, designed to span the time it takes for parents/guardians to complete our 5 km, 10 km, 21.1 km or 42.2 km distances. Learn More.

Infant Feeding Stations: To help reduce barriers to entry while emphasizing the importance of getting the whole family active, Infant Feeding Stations are available at the start line area, finish line area, and two stations on-course. These stations will be freely accessible to any participants, volunteers or attendees who require a private space to breastfeed, pump, or bottle-feed.

Live Entertainment on Saturday & Sunday

The celebrations don’t stop when you cross the finish line! In addition to stretch areas, food trucks, beer gardens, and photo ops, there will also be live entertainment taking the stage on both days. On Saturday, participants and spectators can enjoy some greatest hits and throwback tunes from Calgary’s very own Rondel Roberts Band. The Sunday crowd will be able to kick back and vibe to legendary Calgary DJ Joanna Magik’s beats. Two iconic artists. Two epic post-race parties.
