Ruffwear’s Polar Trex dog boots perform well in the polar vortex conditions of Canadian winter. The zippered gaiter provides enough stretch and coverage to keep snow from slipping inside the boot cuff and the Vibram sole provides significant traction and protection from the elements. They were easy to get on compared to similar boots from other manufacturers. Once on, the boots provided a secure fit without much worry of over-tightening and needed little adjustment.
Our only concern was that the sizing is fairly specific and if your dog requires a different size for front feet and back feet you may run into some confusion as to which boot goes where due to lack of markings. We were able to easily overcome this with a sharpie note on the inside of the boot, but would like to see this changed for simplicity sake if Ruffwear decides to update this great product.
