Inspired by Buddhist traditions, Dharma Kitchen in the Kitsilano neighbourhood is a calming escape on traffic-heavy West Broadway. With decor that is reminiscent of a monastery, owner Tommy Cao’s 10-year-old vegetarian restaurant brings Asian flavours to the forefront with a menu rich with tofu and tempeh dishes.
This spot will be particularly appealing to diners who may prefer a vegetarian option over meat, but do not want to compromise on either the spice level or flavour of their favourite curry dishes.
You must order: Boddhisattva Burger ($18), which includes a tempeh burger topped with curried peanut sauce, grilled mushrooms and more.
Menu price range: $7-$18, featuring protein salads, tempeh bowls and curried vegetable dishes.
