After giving thousands of massages and helping countless clients, Calgary’s largest massage clinic, Apex Massage Therapy is celebrating 25 years in business. Apex was formed by Shelly MacGregor in 1994 with two registered massage therapists (RMTs) and has grown to more than 35 RMTs today.

Apex Massage Therapy is the only clinic in Calgary to guarantee same-day service if clients call to schedule an appointment prior to 10 am Monday through Thursday. The clinic provides over 15,000 massages a year and every Apex Massage Therapist is registered with an accredited association in Alberta requiring an equivalent of a minimum of 2,200 hours of training. The company now operates nine spacious treatment rooms from its Briar Hill clinic, located in the community of Hounsfield Heights/Briar Hill.

“I attribute our success to two factors,” says Shelly MacGregor, president and founder, Apex Massage Therapy. “An unrelenting focus on providing exceptional customer service and a concentration of only massage therapy services. We stay on top of trends and have recently integrated artificial intelligence (AI) technology into our appointment booking software to increase efficiency.”

“The AI makes interactions more efficient as it ‘sees’ patterns not easily recognizable by people,” Shelly explained. “Pairing AI with scheduling helps Apex achieve new levels of customer service by meeting the expectations of today’s consumers who value instant response and expect personalized engagement tailored to their needs.”

Locally-owned Apex Massage Therapy actively supports the Calgary community. The company regularly donates over $10,000 a year to local charities, provides 25 Massage Therapists to participate in the annual Ride to Conquer Cancer and supports Rethink Breast Cancer and Ronald McDonald House among others. It is currently supporting two-time Alberta short-track speed skating champion Maggie Beynon, who is currently an Apex Ambassador. She receives help with therapeutic sports massages and fundraising to support her speed-skating career.

“Serving Calgary for 25 years has been an incredible honour and privilege,” said Shelly. “Helping our clients feel their best through massage has been not only rewarding but heart-filling.”
