Toronto’s Top 5 Healthy Restaurants
Cafe Belong, Toronto.
Words and phrases such as organic and circle of sustainability are what set the standard at Cafe Belong, run by owner, chef and Food Network star Brad Long.
A skilled culinary expert gifted with an eye for detail, Long has fought for sustainable farming and the ethical treatment of livestock. His St. Lawrence Salad Greens (small, $16 / large, $21) and Spring in the Woods ($16), featuring grilled and marinated mushrooms with charred ramps, fiddleheads, braised onions, are two of the healthy and delicious choices available to you.
You must order: Served after 5 p.m. daily, the Communal Dish gives you the choice of four family-style meals — vegetarian ($65), meat and fish ($90) or Chef’s Choice ($120). Each is served in a five-course presentation and with appropriate accompaniments.
Menu price range: $16-$28 for dinner options.
