The University of Calgary's Gymnastics Club is getting ready to host the 16th Annual Jurassic Classic Gymnastics competition at the Jack Simpson gymnasium, from March 18th-21st. In less then one month, Calgary will see some of the best athletes in Canada competing in both women's and men's events:
The Jurassic Classic was created to offer gymnasts of all levels - from novice to the most experienced - an opportunity to compete in a full-scale competition. The Jurassic Classic attracts athletes from across Canada. Many previous competitors at the Jurassic Classic have gone on to compete at the Olympics in Athens and Beijing, and we anticipate that many future champions and Olympic team members will also be competing in this year's event, in preparation for heading to London in 2012. Jurassic Classic is Canada's largest, co-ed invitational gymnastics competition. This year's meet will features 19 competitive sessions for boys and girls ranging in age from 7 to 24. Approximately 500 athletes from 45 clubs will compete in 10 different events throughout the weekend. The event takes place in the Jack Simpson Gym at the University of Calgary. Tickets are
